Who can take part

  • You are 60 years old or older.
  • Your surgery will require a blood pressure monitor in the wrist (radial artery puncture).
  • You will be given propofol to start anesthesia.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is under 30.
  • You do not have a history of low blood pressure or poorly controlled high blood pressure.
  • You have no heart pump weakness (ejection fraction above 50%), no arm blood clots, and no neck surgery or radiation history.
