Who can take part

  • You are 22 years old or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with sepsis or septic shock, meaning you have a serious infection causing organ problems or very low blood pressure.
  • You are admitted or being admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU).
  • A blood sample can be taken within 24 hours of your sepsis diagnosis.
  • You are not currently in prison.
  • You or your legal representative can give permission (informed consent) to join the study.
