  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are having a free flap (tissue transfer) surgery for head and neck cancer, and the area will be easy to see.
  • You do not have another serious medical condition that is not related to your cancer.
  • Your cancer has not spread to other parts of your body.
  • You are not pregnant or nursing.
