  • You have had a joint replacement or spine surgery
  • You have clear signs of infection, as defined by your doctor
  • You have been off antibiotics for at least 2 weeks before testing
  • Your doctor can take a tissue or fluid sample of at least 1 milliliter
  • You are not pregnant
  • You do not have cancer
