Who can take part
- You must have a nose or throat swab already collected in a specific transport liquid.
- You are currently in the hospital, emergency room, outpatient clinic, or a long-term care facility.
- You have active symptoms of a respiratory infection (like cough, fever, or sore throat).
- The leftover swab sample must be at least half a milliliter (about the size of a pea) for some types, or more for others.
- The sample must have been kept in the refrigerator (not frozen) for no more than 3 days before testing, or frozen very cold if delayed.
