- Your child was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes within the last 6 months.
- Your child is between 60 and 78 months old — that's about 5 to 6 and a half years old.
- Your child does not have any other developmental conditions, like cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, or muscular dystrophy.
- Your child is not starting first grade.
