Who can take part
- You are 18 years old or older.
- You have been diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) — a heart attack or unstable angina — and you are not eligible for a procedure called primary PCI (balloon or stent) right away.
- Your kidney function is good (eGFR of 60 or higher).
- You do not have cancer, chronic heart failure (NYHA class III or IV), chronic liver disease, nephrotic syndrome, or a recent stroke.
- You are not pregnant and have no recent infection.
