Who can take part

  • You or your legal representative must sign a consent form to participate.
  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must have a confirmed pneumonia from COVID-19, influenza A, influenza B, or RSV (positive PCR test within 3 days).
  • You must have signs of body-wide inflammation (SIRS), such as fever, fast heart rate, fast breathing, or abnormal white blood cell count.
  • You must need oxygen therapy to help you breathe.
  • You cannot have a BMI of 35 or higher, serious heart or liver problems, active cancer, or certain infections (HIV, hepatitis B or C).
