Who can take part

  • You are having major surgery for a cancer in your lower belly (like colon, bladder, or gynecological cancer).
  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • Your general health is good-to-fair (classified as ASA I–III or NYHA I–III).
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder, severe liver or kidney disease, or an active infection where the surgery will be done.
  • You are not pregnant, and you have not used strong painkillers (opioids) before this surgery.
