High flow nasal cannula vs standard oxygen for endoscopic ultrasound

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a body mass index (BMI) of 35 or higher (within the last 6 months or at your current procedure).
  • You are scheduled for an endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) with or without an upper endoscopy (EGD) or biopsy.
  • You do not need general anesthesia for this procedure (only monitored sedation).
  • You are not having a combined procedure like EUS with ERCP or colonoscopy.
  • You are not on home oxygen or have severe COPD, and do not have a tracheostomy.
