Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 85 years old.
- You have a confirmed type of stomach cancer called gastric adenocarcinoma.
- Your cancer is at a stage where it hasn't spread to nearby organs or far away (stages T2 to T4a, with or without lymph node involvement, but no distant spread).
- You are scheduled for a surgery called proximal gastrectomy with D2 lymph node removal and complete removal of stomach-supporting tissue (mesogastric excision).
- Your health status is good enough for surgery, as measured by the ASA score of I, II, or III.
- You have not had chemotherapy or radiation before this surgery, no previous upper belly surgery, and your BMI is under 30.
