Gene therapy for skin cancer in recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with generalized recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB) due to a COL7A1 gene mutation
  • You have a biopsy-confirmed squamous cell carcinoma (a type of skin cancer)
  • You are 18 years or older
  • You can travel to the study site for visits
  • You are willing to use the gene therapy (BVEC) and an effective birth control method if needed
  • You do not have metastatic SCC (cancer that has spread) or are currently receiving systemic treatment for SCC
