Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a BMI of 30 or higher, or a large waistline (men: 35 inches or more, women: 31 inches or more).
  • You have metabolic syndrome (at least two of: high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high triglycerides, or low HDL cholesterol).
  • You are currently taking medications and seeing a doctor regularly.
  • You have not used any weight loss methods in the past 6 months.
  • You have healthy ears (no injury, infection, or rash) and use a smartphone.
