- You are female and between 18 and 70 years old.
- Your breast cancer is HER2-positive (a protein that fuels cancer growth) and has spread to other parts of the body or come back after treatment.
- You have not had brain metastases (tumors spread to the brain).
- You are able to take pills by mouth and have no history of serious stomach or bowel problems.
- Your general health is good, with normal blood counts, liver and kidney function, and heart function.
