Who can take part
- Adults aged 18 to 74 scheduled for a same-day rotator cuff repair surgery
- Able to manage a home pain pump and have someone to help you at home
- Live close to the hospital and understand instructions in Spanish or English
- No long-term use of strong painkillers (opioids) for more than 3 months
- No severe health problems like kidney or liver failure, or an ASA score of 3 or higher
- Not allergic to the numbing medicines or other study pain drugs
