Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • Your rectal cancer is stage II or III and located in the middle or lower part of the rectum
  • Your tumor has been tested and shows high microsatellite instability (MSI-H) or a mismatch repair deficiency (dMMR)
  • You are in good overall health (able to do daily activities and have normal blood cell counts, liver, and kidney function)
  • You have not had prior immunotherapy, chemotherapy, or radiation for rectal cancer
  • You do not have a serious autoimmune disease, active infection, or other condition that would make treatment risky
