AI for spotting lung bruises on chest X-rays after chest injury

This trial tests whether AI can help doctors find lung bruises (contusions) on chest X-rays, using high-resolution CT scans as the reference. If you came to the ER with a blunt chest injury and had both an X-ray and a CT scan within 48 hours, you may be able to help improve how we detect injuries.

Who can take part

  • You were 18 or older at the time of your emergency visit.
  • You came to the emergency department at IRCCS AOU of Bologna with a blunt chest injury (like from a fall or car crash).
  • Your injury happened between June 1, 2014, and June 1, 2024.
  • You had a standard chest X-ray and a high-resolution CT scan of your chest within 48 hours of each other.
