  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have an open fracture in an arm or leg that needs surgery with metal pins, plates, or rods.
  • You have a bone infection from a fracture and will have surgery to clean out the infection and possibly remove hardware.
  • Your surgery is done by a doctor taking part in this study.
  • You can understand and sign a consent form.
