- You are 18 to 60 years old.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is between 35 and 50.
- You have a stable, mild to moderate health condition (classified as ASA II or III).
- You are scheduled for a sleeve gastrectomy or gastric bypass (Roux-en-Y) weight-loss surgery.
- You do not have major bleeding, liver disease, or allergies to the numbing medicine used.
