AI eye exam for better blood sugar control in diabetes

This study tests whether an artificial intelligence (AI) eye exam can help people with type 2 diabetes better control their blood sugar and make sure they get their regular eye checks. It is for adults with type 2 diabetes who have not had a diabetic eye exam before and have an A1c above 7%.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have type 2 diabetes.
  • Your most recent A1c blood sugar test is above 7%.
  • You have never had a diabetic eye exam before.
  • You have not been diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy (eye damage from diabetes).
  • You do not have other serious eye diseases, cancer, or severe heart problems.
