Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with a specific type of retinal detachment called 'rhegmatogenous' (caused by a tear or hole in the retina).
- You are 18 years or older and can understand and sign a consent form.
- Your eye pressure is normal (below 21 mmHg) and you have no personal or family history of glaucoma.
- Your eye doctor has checked the back of your eye (fundus) and confirmed the cup-to-disc ratio is less than 0.5 (a sign of healthy optic nerve).
- You have not had vitrectomy surgery in the same eye before, and you do not have active eye infections, severe eye cloudiness, or other conditions that could interfere with the study.
