This study is looking for people in south-east Austria who have hepatitis B (HBV) or hepatitis C (HCV) that hasn't been fully treated or documented. It aims to find how many people also have hepatitis D (HDV) and are not yet aware of it.

Who can take part

  • You must have at least one of these hepatitis viruses: hepatitis B (HBV) or hepatitis C (HCV).
  • If you have HCV, you must still have the virus active in your blood (positive HCV RNA) and have not been cured yet.
  • If you have HBV, you must have had the virus in your blood at some point (positive HBV DNA or RNA), and you either have not been tested for hepatitis D (HDV) or have tested positive for it.
  • You must have a valid social insurance number and your contact information must be available in health records.
