Who can take part

  • The child must have swallowed a corrosive substance and been seen at Assiut University Hospital.
  • No other long-term inflammatory diseases (like rheumatoid arthritis or IBS).
  • No other life-threatening emergencies at the same time.
  • Must have come to the hospital within 48 hours of the accident.
  • Legal guardians must be available and agree to the study.
