Wound dressings for necrotizing fasciitis wounds

Necrotizing FascitisNecrotizing Soft Tissue Infection

This study tests two special wound dressings (Cytal® Wound Matrix and MicroMatrix®) to help heal wounds caused by a serious flesh-eating infection called necrotizing fasciitis. The goal is to see if these dressings improve healing and reduce the need for more surgeries.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and have necrotizing fasciitis (a severe infection that destroys soft tissue).
  • Your wound is at least 30 square centimeters (about the size of a credit card).
  • You are willing to follow the study schedule and treatment plan.
  • Your wound is not from a burn.
  • You do not have an active bone infection (osteomyelitis) that needs treatment.
  • You are not allergic to products made from pig tissue.
