- You are between 18 and 65 years old
- You are having laparoscopic (keyhole) inguinal hernia surgery on one side, scheduled in advance (not an emergency)
- You will be under general anesthesia (fully asleep)
- You do not have bleeding problems or infection where the block would be given
- You are able to give consent and are fully conscious
