Hydrotherapy for balance after burn nerve damage
Part of Injuries & trauma clinical trials.
This trial tests if water therapy (hydrotherapy) can improve balance in people who have nerve damage in their feet after a leg burn. It may help you if you have trouble standing steadily due to a burn on the sole of your foot.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You had a burn on your lower leg, especially the sole of your foot, that damaged the nerves (called polyneuropathy)
- The burn was a deep third-degree burn covering at least one-third (30%) of your body
- You are between 35 and 45 years old
- You can follow simple instructions and do the exercises
- You do not have other conditions that affect balance (like Parkinson's, inner ear problems, or diabetes)

This study tests a balance-retraining program that uses modified visual information to help people with neuropathy feel steadier while walking. You may benefit if your balance problems are linked to nerve-related sensitivity and you can safely participate in walking and standing exercises.
This trial tests whether core stability and sensorimotor exercises help improve balance after a lower leg burn. It is for people with second-degree burns covering 20-35% of their body, once the wounds have fully healed.
This study tests if hydrotherapy (gentle exercise in warm water) can help reduce pain, improve balance, and boost quality of life for people with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. It is designed for patients who have had type 2 diabetes for more than 10 years and have stable blood sugar.
This study tests whether combining core-strengthening exercises with resistance band workouts helps people walk better after a leg burn. It is designed for adults whose leg burns have healed completely within the past couple of weeks.
This trial tests whether a gentle movement technique called Feldenkrais can help people with diabetic nerve damage improve their balance and control. It may be an option if you have stable blood sugar and can walk on your own.
This trial tests whether virtual reality exercises can help people with leg burns improve balance and reduce depression and anxiety. It is for people who had a large thermal burn on their lower body at least 3 months ago.
