- You are 18 years old or older.
- You have been diagnosed with esophageal cancer.
- You are scheduled for esophagus removal surgery (esophagectomy) at UPMC Shadyside or UPMC Passavant.
- Your surgery is at least 2 weeks away.
- You are able to walk, stand, and exercise safely (no heart or lung issues that prevent activity).
- You can read, speak, and understand English.
