Using a dye to help see cancer during vulvectomy for Paget's disease

Extramammary Paget's Disease

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have a type of Paget's disease (EMPD) that has not spread deep into the skin or beyond
  • Your EMPD appears as a single, connected spot that the surgeon can see
  • Your doctor plans to remove the cancer with surgery that does not require removing the clitoris, urethra, or anus, and expects to close the wound directly or with a simple skin flap
  • You have not had an allergic reaction to fluorescein sodium in the past
  • You have not had radiation therapy to the vulva or anus area
