Who can take part

  • Your baby must be 4 to 6 months old now, born full-term (at least 37 weeks), and of Hispanic/Latino background.
  • You must be willing to start feeding your baby avocado around 6 months of age and keep it up for 6 months.
  • At least one parent or caregiver at home has completed 8th grade or higher.
  • Neither parent has a known avocado or latex allergy (or if so, your doctor can clear the baby).
  • The baby was not born with serious health problems or delayed development, and birth weight was between about 5.5 and 8.8 pounds.
