Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must have been diagnosed with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
  • You cannot have viral hepatitis (like hepatitis B or C).
  • You cannot have alcoholic fatty liver (more than 2 drinks a day for women, 3 for men).
  • You cannot be taking medications that cause fat in the liver, such as tamoxifen or corticosteroids.
  • You cannot have cancer or other serious organ diseases.
