This study looks at how early-life trauma may change the way the gut and brain talk to each other. If your child has been through a difficult event and is between 6 and 13, this study could help us understand how that experience affects their body and mind.

Who can take part

  • Your child is between 6 and 13 years old.
  • Your child has gone through at least one stressful or traumatic event in their early life.
  • You and your child can fill out forms and talk with the research team in Dutch.
  • Your child does not have any long-term health condition that affects the gut bacteria, like inflammatory bowel disease.
  • Your child has not taken antibiotics in the last 6 weeks, or laxatives, probiotics, or prebiotics in the last 4 weeks.
