This trial tests if a common cholesterol medicine, atorvastatin, can slow the progression of arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, a genetic heart condition that can cause abnormal heart rhythms. If you have this condition, joining this study may help researchers find a new way to protect your heart.

Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must have arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, as diagnosed by your doctor using standard criteria.
  • You cannot be taking any other cholesterol-lowering medications (like other statins, fibrates, or PCSK9 inhibitors).
  • You must not have liver disease, muscle disease, or severe heart failure.
  • You must not be pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding; if you can become pregnant, you must use effective birth control.
  • You must not have a known allergy to atorvastatin or any of its ingredients.
