Music therapy for PTSD

PTSD - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

This study tests if listening to specially changed music can help people with PTSD get more benefit from a type of talk therapy called cognitive processing therapy (CPT). The therapy is daily for two weeks.

Who can take part

  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • You must have PTSD or some PTSD symptoms, especially feeling on edge or easily startled
  • You must be able to stand up from a seated position without help
  • You must be able to attend daily therapy sessions in person for two weeks at Ohio State or Wright-Patterson Air Force Base
  • You must not have a heart condition, hearing aids, persistent ear ringing, or an allergy to medical tape
