This study tests whether replacing a urinary catheter early during a catheter-related infection leads to better outcomes than keeping it in place. It may help people who have had a catheter for at least two weeks and develop a urinary tract infection.

Who can take part
- You are 18 or older.
- You have a urinary catheter (either through the urethra or through the belly) that has been in place for at least 2 weeks.
- You have symptoms of a urinary tract infection, such as fever, chills, confusion, pain in your side or lower belly, or blood in urine.
- You have a positive urine culture showing bacteria, or a positive blood culture with the same bacteria in your urine.
- You can speak and read Dutch or English well enough to complete questionnaires.
- You are not pregnant, do not have a weakened immune system, bladder stones, or a life expectancy under 3 months.
