Who can take part

  • You must be 40 years old or older.
  • You are scheduled for a kidney stone removal procedure called percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL).
  • You do not have known heart disease, heart failure, or other serious heart conditions.
  • Your pre-surgery blood test for heart muscle strain (troponin) must be normal (below 0.03 ng/mL).
  • You must be willing and able to agree to participate in the study.
