  • You have early-stage breast cancer confirmed by biopsy (invasive or non-invasive).
  • Your cancer has not spread to other parts of the body.
  • You are scheduled to have breast surgery during this hospital stay (like lumpectomy, mastectomy, or reconstruction).
  • You can make your own decisions and sign a consent form.
  • You have not had breast cancer before (even in the same breast after past surgery).
