Who can take part

  • Must be between 8 years old and 17 years 11 months old.
  • Must speak English as the main language (started learning by age 2).
  • Must have difficulty saying the R sound correctly in words (less than 30% accurate on a test).
  • Must be able to hear normal speech sounds (pass a hearing screening).
  • Must not have a diagnosed developmental disability like autism, cerebral palsy, or Down syndrome.
  • Must not have other major speech or language problems beyond the R sound.
