Who can take part
- You are a woman aged 18 to 70 with newly diagnosed breast cancer that hasn't spread beyond the breast.
- You are willing to have surgery that removes the breast tissue but keeps the nipple and areola.
- You are healthy enough for surgery and daily activities are not too limited (ECOG score 0 or 1).
- If you had chemotherapy before surgery, the surgery must happen within 8 weeks of finishing chemo.
- You do not have inflammatory breast cancer, cancer in the nipple area, or other active cancers.
