Comparing two treatments for chronic neck pain

Who can take part

  • You are a man or woman who is medically fit to participate
  • You have had trigger points (tight knots) in your upper shoulder muscle for more than 6 months
  • When pressure is applied to the knot, you feel pain that travels away from the spot
  • You have not had neck or shoulder problems like fractures, surgeries, infections, or inflammatory conditions
  • You do not have cervical disc disease, fibromyalgia, or a major health condition affecting your whole body
  • You have not had physical therapy for your neck in the last 3 months
