City-Hospital Collaboration for Early Liver Fibrosis Detection
Part of Digestive system clinical trials.
This study looks at whether a city-hospital partnership can help find liver fibrosis (early scarring of the liver) earlier in people who get a Fibroscan test ordered by their primary care doctor. It is for adults whose Fibroscan result was at least 8 kPa and who had the test between 2023 and 2026.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- Your primary care doctor or a nurse ordered a Fibroscan (a non-invasive test that checks liver stiffness) because your FIB-4 score was above 1.3
- Your Fibroscan result was 8 kPa or higher (kPa is a measure of liver stiffness; higher numbers can mean more scarring)
- You had this Fibroscan between January 2023 and January 2026
- You do not have any known chronic liver disease that you were already being treated for at the time of the Fibroscan

This study tests how well primary care doctors can screen for advanced liver scarring in people with fatty liver from non-alcohol causes or from alcohol use. It may help find liver problems earlier so you can get the right follow-up.
This trial tests a new wearable patch that uses ultrasound to measure liver stiffness, which can help diagnose scarring. It may be an option if you already need or recently had a FibroScan for chronic liver disease.
This trial uses a blood test (FIB-4) to find liver scarring (fibrosis) in people who haven't been tested before. It aims to catch advanced liver disease early, which can help you get treatment sooner.
This study is testing a new way to use a FibroScan (a non-invasive liver scanner) with a single probe to measure liver health in people with chronic liver disease. If you have a long-term liver condition, this trial may help improve how liver exams are done.
This study tests a new, non-invasive way to measure liver stiffness using a device called FibroScan. It aims to make liver checkups easier and more comfortable for people with liver disease.
This study is looking for new ways to detect liver scarring (fibrosis) in people with fatty liver disease (NAFLD, NASH, MASLD, or MASH). If you qualify, you will give a blood sample to help identify biomarkers that could replace biopsies.
