Strength, Balance, and Function in Above-Knee Amputees

Transfemoral Amputation

This study looks at how the length of the remaining part of your leg (residual limb) affects your strength, balance, and walking ability. If you have a transfemoral amputation (above the knee) and use a prosthesis, this trial may help researchers better understand your function.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 50 years old
  • You have a single above-knee amputation (transfemoral)
  • You can read and understand instructions
  • You have been using a prosthesis to walk for at least 6 months
  • You have no heart, bone, thinking, or nerve problems that affect balance or strength
  • Your residual limb (stump) is at least 25 cm long from your hip bone
