Who can take part

  • You have a cavity on the chewing surface of a premolar or molar tooth.
  • The cavity is moderate depth, reaching the middle layer of the tooth (dentin) but not too deep.
  • You have symptoms of reversible pulpitis: brief sharp pain or sensitivity to hot, cold, or sweet things.
  • You are not taking long-term anti-inflammatory, pain, or psychiatric medications.
  • You do not have poor oral hygiene, gum disease, bruxism (teeth grinding), or other serious tooth wear.
