Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 64 years old.
  • You have chronic kidney failure and are scheduled for a kidney transplant.
  • Your BMI (body mass index) is between 18 and 30, and you weigh at least 50 kg (110 lbs) if male or 45 kg (99 lbs) if female.
  • Your health is classified as ASA III or IV (severe but not life-threatening, or constant threat to life).
  • You are not taking sedatives or antidepressants long-term, and you do not have serious liver, heart, lung, or bleeding problems.
