Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with early-stage esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (T1 stage, meaning the cancer is only in the inner layer of the esophagus).
  • You had a contrast-enhanced CT scan (a special type of CT that uses dye) within two weeks before your surgery.
  • You have not received any chemotherapy, radiation, or endoscopic treatment for this cancer before your surgery.
  • Your CT scan images are good quality and complete, and your pathology results are fully available.
  • Your cancer has not spread to other parts of the body (no metastasis).
