Calf muscle tightness and its treatment in long-lasting heel pain
Part of Bones, joints & muscles clinical trials.
This study looks at how often calf muscles are tight in people with long-lasting plantar fasciitis (heel pain). It also sees if a calf-lengthening procedure helps relieve pain. If you have had heel pain for over 6 months that hasn't improved with standard treatments, this might be an option.

This study looks at how foot measurements relate to plantar fasciitis, a common cause of heel pain. It may help understand why some people get this condition.
This study tests different ways to treat heel pain using self-help resources like exercise guides or videos. It aims to find out what works best for people with heel pain.
This study is looking at a protein in the blood (called CTGF) that might be linked to plantar fasciitis, a common cause of heel pain. By comparing people with and without this condition, researchers hope to understand the disease better and potentially find a simpler way to diagnose it.
This study compares barefoot walking to standard conservative care (like stretching and supportive shoes) for plantar fasciitis—a common cause of heel pain. Researchers want to see if walking barefoot helps reduce pain and improve function in people with persistent heel discomfort.
This trial compares a set of non-surgical treatments (like exercises and therapy) with surgery for people who have had heel pain for over 6 months and haven't found relief from other treatments. The goal is to see which approach works better.
This trial studies treatments for ongoing heel pain caused by plantar fasciitis (pain in the band on the bottom of your foot). If you qualify, you may receive an injection treatment and be compared with a control group to see what works best.
