Can a probiotic reduce stress and sharpen focus in older adults?

Who can take part

  • Aged 50 to 75 years.
  • Body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 32.
  • In generally good health, with mild memory complaints.
  • Score between 42 and 60 on a standard stress and anxiety questionnaire (DASS-21).
  • No serious psychiatric or neurologic conditions like dementia, Alzheimer's, or clinical depression.
  • No use of probiotic supplements in the last 90 days, and no certain medications like antidepressants or sleep aids in the last month.
