  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have had open-heart surgery (like coronary bypass) and are now in the ICU ready to start moving.
  • Your blood pressure and heart rate are stable without needing special medications.
  • You are awake, alert, and can talk and follow instructions.
  • You do not have confusion (delirium), a brain disorder, severe hearing/vision loss, or allergies to smells or sounds.
