  • You are between 1 and 80 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B (a long-term liver infection from the hepatitis B virus)
  • You have not taken any antiviral medication (like pills or shots) for hepatitis B in the last 6 months
  • You do not have other serious liver diseases or active infections like hepatitis C or HIV
  • You do not have certain immune system disorders (like hyperthyroidism) or blood clotting problems (like diabetes or low platelets)
