This study tests whether telephone coaching sessions can help people with advanced cancer and their caregivers talk about and plan for future medical care. You and a support person would join coaching calls together.

Who can take part
- You have stage III or IV cancer
- You are able to take part in phone interviews (about 30 minutes each)
- You speak English or Spanish
- You have a phone, computer, or tablet to use for the study
- You have a support person (like a family member or friend) who also speaks English or Spanish and is 18 or older
- You are not currently in hospice care
