Who can take part

  • You must be 18 or older and have been diagnosed with stage I to IV colon or rectal cancer within the last 3 months.
  • You need at least 2 living family members (parents, children, or siblings) who are 18 or older and live in the U.S.
  • You must be willing to share your cancer diagnosis with those family members.
  • You cannot have had genetic testing for hereditary cancer in the past 2 years, or have a known hereditary colon cancer syndrome.
  • You must be able to read and speak either English or Spanish.
  • You must not have dementia, a cognitive impairment, or a condition that would make it hard to understand genetic test results.
